Practical Education for Local Body Officers
Leadership is built through experience, strengthened through collaboration, and sustained when knowledge is shared.
Kaaba Academy is the year-round educational program of Kaaba, providing practical training, professional development, and ongoing support for local body officers throughout the U.S.G.L.
Serving in office requires more than dedication. Every role carries unique responsibilities, reporting requirements, administrative processes, and leadership challenges. Kaaba Academy helps officers develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to fulfill those responsibilities effectively while strengthening their local bodies.
Through recurring online classes, workshops, and practical resources, participants receive guidance on the day-to-day work of local body administration—from treasury and reporting requirements to governance, strategic planning, communications, and volunteer leadership. Just as importantly, members have opportunities to ask questions, discuss real situations, and learn directly from experienced U.S.G.L. officers responsible for these areas of service.
Kaaba Academy is designed to evolve alongside the needs of our communities. Participants are encouraged to submit questions and suggest future topics, helping shape new classes and ensuring that the curriculum reflects the practical challenges officers encounter in their service.
More than a series of classes, Kaaba Academy is an investment in the future of the Order—preserving institutional knowledge, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that the experience gained by one generation of leaders becomes a foundation upon which the next can build.
Kaaba Academy’s curriculum is being introduced in phases. Our current offerings focus on Officer Foundations, providing practical education for local body officers as they assume and fulfill their responsibilities.
Additional classes, workshops, and resources will be added throughout the year as we continue developing the full Academy curriculum across all five Pillars of Support.
July 28: Treasury Training
August 2: Initiation Secretary Training
Kaaba Academy programs are open to members of U.S.G.L. in good standing. Some classes may require service in a specific office or a minimum degree. Any additional requirements are listed on each class registration page.
Kaaba Academy is built around the needs of our local bodies. Members are encouraged to submit questions, suggest topics, and share the challenges they encounter in service. Many of our programs begin with questions from officers across the U.S.G.L.
